About the Process Data on this
site is collected from data acquisition equipment measuring and
recording parameters at PV systems in the field. On a regular
basis, data is autom
atically downloaded from these sites to FSEC's
Experimental Data Base Management System, where the raw data is
processed and archived for later retrieval and analysis. On a
daily basis, an analysis procedure is automatically executed to produce
daily plots and summary data for each experiment. Other analyses
are conducted on a monthly or longer basis where applicable. After
these daily analysis procedures are completed, the output is converted
to AdobeTM Portable Document Forma
t (PDF) and ASCII text
files and automatically updated on FSEC's WWW server once per
day. Accessing Data from this Site Data on this site is accessed by simply clicking on the desired Alphabetical or Regional listings in the above menu bar, which links to a directory of individual experiments. At the next level, you will see a directory listing of files, beginning with dated subdirectories (or folders), containing older processed data. Next, there are two ASCII text files containing daily summary data for each site, and include information such as daily energy production, system efficiencies and normalized performance parameters useful for comparing systems of different types and sizes in different locations. An explanation of th e parameters stored in these files is given in the header for each file. These text files can be viewed and saved from any browser for importing into spreadsheet applications. Finally, there is a list of date-stamped PDF files that contain charts and data summaries for average daily system performance, and are available for a daily, monthly, and longer basis as applicable. Data older than one month is usually archived in the subdirectories. These PDF files can be viewed, printed and downloaded using the free Acrobat Reader software. Disclaimer and Your Responsibilities The data available from this site is considered experimental in nature, and any misuse, misinterpretation, or use of selective results in marketing or claims against product manufacturers is strictly prohibited. Due to the proprietary, developmental or otherwise sensitive nature of some of the information available at this site, certain databases / experiments are protected from unauthorized access.
